The phloem moves glucose and amino acids from the leaves all around the plant, in a process known as translocation. The xylem and phloem are arranged in groups called vascular bundles. The arrangement is slightly different in the roots to the stems. The xylem are made up of dead cells, whereas the phloem is made up of living cells. Only on "CBS This Morning," we take a look at how the TSA is making an unprecedented move to improve airport security. The agency is training all its new screeners at one centralized academy on the grounds of the federal law enforcement training centers in Glynco, Georgia. It was created after a number of missteps that raised doubts about the TSA's ability to properly screen airline passengers. Kris Van Cleave reports.

"It's a weeklong academy to get girls introduced into transportation-related careers using math and science," explained Deanna Flinchum, research director at the University of Tennessee Center for Transportation (CTR) research located on the UT Knoxville campus. "I've been having a lot of fun. This whole experience has been great," participant Isabelle Defreese said. "I definitely want to do it again next year. I have learned a lot." The Transportation Academy, run by the Center for Transportation Research, teaches girls about transportation safety and careers in fun ways using items such as remote control cars and a driving simulator.

Plants have a transport system to move things around. The xylem moves water and solutes, from the roots to the leaves in a process known as transpiration.
